Accreditation
Accreditation Process
The process evaluates applicants across three key dimensions: technical competency, professional competency, and trust standards, ensuring a holistic measure of ability and integrity.
Technical Competency
Applicants provide a record of their certifications, completed courses, and commercial or industry experience, all of which are verified by CREST ANZ personnel. They then undergo a Technical Competency Assessment conducted by a 2–5 member Accreditation Assessment Panel under strict standards and policies (confidentiality, evidence-based assessment, independence, due process, and equal opportunity).
The assessment includes predetermined questions, formal scoring, and time-limited responses, supervised by the CREST ANZ CEO. Technical areas examined include:

Professional Competency
Professional evaluation considers:
- • Years of experience in role and industry
- • Psychometric assessment results
- • Employer and client reference checks to gain qualitative insights
- • Professionalism displayed during the Technical Competency Examination, scored by the Accreditation Assessment Panel
Trust Standards
Trustworthiness is assessed through:
- • Valid national police check verification
- • Internet and social media checks
- • Cyber ethics examination (currently in development)
Upon successful completion of the ABPT program, the applicant (or sponsoring organisation) receives a comprehensive report. ABPT accreditations remain valid for 18 months from the date of completion.
