Ethics and Professional Standards

The CREST ANZ Code of Conduct sets out a comprehensive ethical framework that guides how members, employees, officers, directors, suppliers, and consultants are expected to behave when representing the organisation.

Built on a foundation of trust and integrity, the Code promotes responsible and ethical business decisions in every interaction – whether internal or external. It outlines clear standards in areas such as anti-bribery, conflicts of interest, data privacy, social media use, government engagement, financial reporting, and environmental responsibility. Importantly, it is not merely advisory: failure to comply may lead to disciplinary action, including membership termination.

Embedded in the Code are six core cultural principles – inclusion, teamwork, accountability, simplicity, empowerment and trust – which define the values CREST ANZ expects all stakeholders to embody. It emphasises strict compliance with laws and regulations and expects members to act in a way that reflects positively on the organisation’s reputation and mission.

The Code also includes practical guidance on how to navigate ethical dilemmas, encourages transparency and whistleblowing, and reinforces the need for secure and respectful handling of information, property, and digital assets. Together, these measures uphold the high standards that underpin CREST ANZ’s credibility as a trusted leader in cyber security membership and accreditation.
