CREST Australia New Zealand (CREST ANZ) has announced the completion of its Board renewal process, bringing together nine highly accomplished directors who will guide the organisation through its next phase of growth and continue strengthening cyber security standards across Australia and New Zealand.
The Board was finalised through appointments made at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and the subsequent February 2026 Board meeting, creating one of the most experienced and diverse leadership teams in the Australian cyber security sector.
The Board combines independent directors with senior executives from leading cyber security organisations, providing CREST ANZ with an exceptional blend of governance, executive leadership, technical expertise and commercial experience.
Speaking following the completion of the Board appointments, CREST ANZ CEO George Bej said the organisation is exceptionally well positioned to deliver on its strategic priorities.

The Board will oversee CREST ANZ’s strategic priorities, including raising professional standards across the cyber security profession, expanding pathways for emerging talent, strengthening engagement with government and regulators, growing the Approved Company programme, and continuing the rollout of the Accredited Best of Breed Penetration Tester (ABPT) accreditation framework.
The CREST ANZ Board includes David McEwen (Chair), Martin Boyd (Independent Director), Daminda Kumara (Independent Director), Wade Alcorn (Independent Director), John Powell (Member Director), Bob Ledger (Member Director), Troy Vanderplas (Member Director), Jayaprakash (JP) Muthusamy (Member Director), and Gurpreet Singh (Member Director).
